John George Farm and Ice Cream Shop has been a Dartmouth tradition since 1960.
What began as a small family operation has grown into one of the South Shore's
most beloved farm stands — but the principles remain unchanged.
We grow what we sell. Our fields produce seasonal fruits and vegetables that
reach your hands hours after harvest, not days. And our ice cream is churned
fresh every morning using whole milk from local dairies — no shortcuts,
no artificial flavors, just honest taste.
Whether you're stopping by for a pint on a summer afternoon or picking
ingredients for a weekend meal, we invite you to slow down and savor
what grows well when it's done right.
From our fields to your table
Seasonal produce harvested at peak ripeness — the way nature intended.
What's available depends on the weather and the crop, which is exactly
why we love it this way.
Seasonal Fruits
Apples, peaches, berries, and stone fruit picked the same day you buy them.
Each variety is chosen for flavor, not shelf life.
Fresh Vegetables
Heirloom tomatoes, sweet corn, squash, and leafy greens — all grown
in our soil and harvested at the peak of flavor.
Farm Stand Essentials
Hayrides in autumn, pumpkins through October, and locally sourced
honey, eggs, and preserves alongside our own harvest.
Churned fresh every morning
Our ice cream is made the old-fashioned way — small batches,
whole milk from local dairies, and recipes that have been refined
over decades. There are no artificial colors or flavors, and
nothing we can't pronounce.
Flavors rotate with the seasons. Some are classics you'll find
anywhere. Others are surprises we've developed from ingredients
grown right here on the farm.
Classic Vanilla
Madagascar vanilla beans,
whole milk, a touch of farm-fresh cream
Strawberry
Fresh Dartmouth strawberries,
picked at peak ripeness
Chocolate
Rich cocoa, balanced sweetness,
velvety texture
